Lefftovers from 2004....

April 5, 2004: Gee, you think that maybe I should update this stuff a little more frequently? I keep reading articles talking about all the abandoned Blogs out there (makes me glad I gave up that idea real fast) -- and it makes me feel a bit guilty that this is almost as bad. Well, I have a new notebook (see the world of PC's for more info), and now I can write updates where ever I am -- and anytime I'm fairly close to my parents house I can upload them as well. OK, I can do that at home as well, but dad has a broadband connection and my wireless access point....

April 30, 2004: Still not very good at updating the website, even with using a new notebook. I end up using it to play games during my breaks at work, instead of updating websites. Of course, I still have to install an FTP client too (although Dreamweaver is more than capable of uploading files, I'd rather do it the old fashioned way).

May 3, 2004: OK, now I'm just embarrassed. I watched some movies over the weekend, and thought I'd sit down and write a few reviews. So I looked in the directory for a review with the new background (such as the one here) to use as a template. That's when I realized that I haven't written a movie review since The Phantom Menace. This page started it's life over 8 years ago as a video review page for all my video's. Yet here I am, years since I written any. Well that's going to change, starting now. I'm going to write some reviews -- just as soon as I get off work....

May 12, 2004: Still no new reviews yet, but I have updated the look of them (except the big ones, like the Bond pages, Star wars and Mission Impossible). But I'll get cracking on them soon, once the newness of working with style sheets wears off a little...

May 13,2004: AHA! I showed you all! I actually posted an update last night! All the modified reviews went up, updates to the PC section, and of course this page. All I have to do is keep it up.

June 7, 2004: This is my last week of work before we go on Vacation this year. It's a big family trip to Walt Disney World in Florida. We all will be staying in a big 7 bedroom house a few miles from the front gates, so it should be nice. I have managed to fit my entire notebook setup into one good sized carrying case, so I will not be left computerless. In fact, if all goes as planned I should be able to send daily updates to the website. Plus, everyone will be able to keep up with their emails, and the wife will be able to print out online coupons, and we can print menus from restaurants....

June 10, 2004: I didn't start this page to make money -- this is what I like to do for fun. That's why there are no ad pop-ups and few advertisements (in fact, I ditched pages on free servers for that very reason). But perhaps you've noticed a few bits of business slipped in here and there lately. The first was a link to a poster shop (which I think has since disappeared) on the Titanic page, and many of the movies have links to Amazon.com (which I offer more as a convienience than anything else). Well add to those the banner on this page (and the button at the bottom) for web hosting. This site costs me about $150 a year (including the domain name) -- that kind of money I can cough up relatively easy (since it doesn't happen all at once). But it was tough finding a good hosting plan that wasn't going to cost a fortune. This is not a high bandwidth consuming site, but I do have certain space requirements. This place replaced the one I used to use -- and for a personal page has proven fairly reliable (and cheaper than some of the other services, including my own ISP and the pay services from the "free" sites). The starter package is only 5 bucks a month -- so go ahead and click, you have no excuse for not having a website anymore.

June 14, 2004: Well, vacation has started, and I've started posting a new vacation page that I'm sure you'll all want to visit. I guess I'll have to introduce a world of vacation page soon, won't I.
