Lefftovers from 2005....

See, this -- I'm not even going to bother to put a date on this entry. I know, I'm lousy at updating. Of course, if someone was paying me to do this I'd be doing this all the time. Of course, thanks to the wonderful management of the Decatur OfficeMax, I have plenty of time to write stuff. I'm never very happy about losing a job, but this was one time when I really wasn't all that disappointed. When I first joined the store, I was hired as the technical supervisor -- my job was to help solve customer's problems, and find new solutions that they didn't even think of. About a year and a half after I started, the corporate management decided they weren't rich enough, and the best way they could think of to get richer was to sell the company to someone else. So, to make the company more attractive, they used rule #3 on the greedy corporate sales guide -- screw the little people. I ended up being demoted from supervisor to floor associate -- hey, no cut in pay, not loss of hours -- just any hope of advancement in the company disappeared. Not to say I didn't hope -- I stuck around for another couple of years, hoping the company would make it up to me. Gee -- can anyone guess what happend? 2 managers later, I get a guy who feels that customers are nothing more than pockets to be picked, and he even brought in his own personal scam artist to help out. Of course, I'm not that kind of person, so I was just SOL. So once again, I'm playing Mr. Mom to a pre-schooler, and looking for a new job.

Such fun.
