June and July News and stuff....

July 28, 2000:

I noticed something last week. Even though I have a fairly involved Titanic page, there wasn't any easy way to get to it from here. Now there is. And, since I added another world to the group above, I decided to finally post a page for my puzzles (just to keep things even). New gripe too.

July 18, 2000:

Well, in an odd turn of events, my Titanic page was given an award for being an outstanding celebrity site. Yeah, right. As a Titanic page goes, it's not too bad, covering more than just a 2 year old movie -- it includes info on the ship itself, sections about the Adventure out of Time game, as well as a section on Starship Titanic. I know the entire award is a shameless attempt to get me to offer free advertising to someone else -- but maybe I'll do it anyway, at least it gave me something new to write about....

July 16, 2000:

I'm sitting here, listening to the nieghbor noisily hack through his yard with his mower (something I will need to do myself, later this evening) -- recovering from a recent trip to St. Louis. We saw the Zoo, went up in the Arch, visited my cousin in the hospital, swam and played miniture golf, and visited old places I used to know. Needless to say I'm still very tired.

July 8, 2000:

It is the day after my birthday (I'm 35 now, thank you very much), and I have just finished writing reviews of the 2 productions we have seen this weekend at The Little Theater -- you will find them (appropriately enough) in the World of Theater page. Tomorrow, I have an unusual Sunday interview for a job selling Gateway Computers -- maybe my luck will change. Here's hoping anyway.

June 30, 2000:

I have finally managed to finish the doctoral thesis on Pearl Harbor -- I think I had an easier time reading the 'Networking Essentials' prep book for the MCSE exams (and if you've read those you know how hard that one is to stay awake through). In a pleasant contrast to grinding through that, I managed to go through the first 6 books of the 'Left Behind' series in about a week and a half. In other activites, I carted my studio computer elsewhere, and have been recording some new backup vocals, as well as new songs -- which will end up on the music site soon (I hope). New gripes too....

June 12, 2000:

There actually isn't any new content here, unless you want to count moving last months ramblings to the opinion page. I've been busy writing more music for budding lyricists at church. That, and I've been busy trying to slog through a book about the events leading up to Pearl Harbor. You know, I didn't have this much trouble reading the WWII books written by Germans (I particularly enjoyed the one about Donitz, though Speer's book wasn't bad either). Maybe I need to find a book on the subject written from the Japanese perspective. I'll review it when I finally finish (though obviously, it will get marked down for readability). I'll also see if I can't scribble something about a nice little Sophie Marceau flick I watched the other morning.
