The movie that elicited that question was 'A Walk on the Moon' (or something like that) -- A TV repairman ditches his wife, mother, and 2 kids at a Catskills resort, while he goes to work each week, making sure everyone's TV is working for the big Apollo landing. While they're at the resort, the teenage daughter starts having her monthly visits, while his wife starts visits of her own with 'the blouseman' -- a hippie in a bus who goes to the resort to sell women second hand clothes. Then mother and daughter seperately sneak off to Woodstock, where daughter catches mother with the blouseman -- marital disaster threatens, until husband and wife reconnect, and bliss is restored. The movie's ok, but this isn't meant to be a review of the film -- more a less than settling revelation of myself. The hubbie of this melodrama is Liev Shrieber, with Anna Paquin filling in for the teenage daughter, Viggo Mortensen as the blouseman -- and starring as the troubled housewife, Diane Lane. There she is, getting it on with Viggo, battling with the teenage daughter, facing accusations from the mother-in-law -- then it dawns on me. DIane Lane is my age! We were both born in 1965, 35 years ago. Actually, '65 wasn't too bad of a year -- I went through the list at the IMDB for my year, narrowed it down to 130 or so that I'd actually heard of, and came up with:

See, there's a bunch of us turning 35 this year (except, of course for Owen Hart and Brandon Lee, who are both dead already), and truth be told, any and all of us could easily have children 14 years old -- or older. So why don't I feel that old? I was engaged when I was 20 -- I suppose if I'd married that girl I probably would have had a 14 year old by now -- instead of 5 year old Bubbles. I tell you, it does make you wonder where the time disappears to -- I suppose most of the people who might come across this page are probably a bit younger than me, it's been my experience that way anyhow. Another thing to make me feel old I guess.
